In West Auckland we use a 10 tiered badge system with the final 5 badges being at a later time advanced time slot. The aim is for the skaters to be able to skating Novice or Medal Test 1 in any discipline at the completion of these badges. The requirements for each badge is available HERE

Running a Prelim competition for Beginners / Class Skaters

A positive environment is required to get skaters thru from this Novice level into your club. These skaters are very aware of the more experienced skaters and having a time set aside where they can practice without feeling they get in the way of older skaters is better for their confidence if possible.
